The KFF has found some great organizations to be part of our Films for a Cause in 2023. These long time Kamloops institutions have been positively contributing to our community for many years and your donations will help them continue the much-needed services they offer. Come down on March 4 before our screenings of MRS. HARRIS GOES TO PARIS and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST SING-ALONG, and the Family Party to help this wonderful organization!
The Boys & Girls Club Kamloops (BGCK) has been serving Kamloops children, youth and family’s since 1955. Their mission statement is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities. All programs and services are offered at low to no charge to allow everyone access to their services.
The BCGK Youth Necessity Nook is a barrier free resource for youth ages 11 – 24. Once per week, youth can receive a hamper full of non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, and household cleaning supplies at no cost. These hampers are custom filled to the needs of each youth that receives one. The BGCK relies on grants and donations from our community to continue to offer this service and fill these hampers.
Requested items for the BGCK Youth Necessity Nook include:
- Kraft dinner & easy to make meals
- School snacks: juice boxes, granola bars, cookies, fruit treats
- Shampoo
- Deodorant
- Socks – adult size
- Underwear- adult size
- Laundry Detergent
Cash donations are also appreciated.
